Jacaranda is about the loneliness of being in a country that is not yours, is about a girl that disappears in a greek island, is about self-incarceration and the desired self-liberation, is about fear and the passing of time, is about desire, is about brief lovers and what remains after they’re gone. Jacaranda is about the tree of the same name growing back in my hometown and about wanting to always remember. It is about an astronaut drifting away while the world underneath comes to the realisation that guilt is in their hands. Jacaranda speaks and sings about all this and more, through folk, acoustic-electronic, post-rock, ambient, and spoken word.
