Verdugo fue formada en 1998 en Fredonia, Antioquia. Define su sonido por la influencia de las bandas del movimiento Metal Medallo en la década de los 80, entre ellas Parabellum, Blasfemia, Reencarnación, Averno y Pirokinesis; así como por las legendarias Slayer, Destruction, Celtic Frost, Coroner, Death, Dark Throne, etc. El Thrash/Death Metal de Verdugo contiene sonidos densos, rápidos y agresivos, que se fusionan con sus líricas anti religiosas.
En el 2014 de forma independiente, se produce el álbum debut de Verdugo \"Imágenes de Barro\".
