Ghetto Bird was a band from Chattanooga,Tn. One of the many bands that included punk enthusiast Josh Mayfield. This was the only album ever recorded by the band. Before this they only released a cassette ep. Don't know exactly the date of the recording. The album was never released I know. Guitarist Josh Mayfield & Vocalist Jill were in a relationship at the time. So when they broke up.The band broke up & the album was shelfed. Since then it has never seen the light. Until now! This is probably one of my favorite punk recordings from that area. It sounds raw & dirty. Not the usual stuff that Chattanooga spits out. The drums are not the usual nofx speed style drumming that most of them bands puke out either (would it hurt to have a slower groove) And the topping on it is Jill's vocals! They spew forth with rage and harmony. It has some curve ball moments too. Track #5 starts out almost like old school deathgrind. Dishing out vocals that will eat you alive! Then from out of nowhere it kicks into this psychedelic jam with a nice fuzzed out bass. The production on this is solid. The band members work really well together. After hearing this. I was like \"why did they stop?\" Joey & Johnny Ramone Hated each other but carried on. Couldn't Josh & Jill get along enough to record a few more records for us? I reckon not.
