From Match’s 1969 album, “A New Light”
From the softer end of the sunshine pop genre, the Match released this breezy harmony filled album in 1969. They chose tracks from a variety of then contemporary writers, such as David Gates, Paul Simon, Bacharach-David, Jim Web and Roger Nichols. “Love Years Coming” was released on 45 by The Match and also by the Strawberry Children on Johnny Rivers’ Soul City Label.
Other famous Jim Webb songs: the 5th Dimension’s “Up Up And Away”, Glen Campbell’s “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” and Richard Harris’ “MacArthur Park”.
