La banda había grabado previamente el álbum Metalizer con el sello italiano Underground Symphony, pero debido a conflictos, su lanzamiento se retrasó hasta 2007. Primo Victoria se convirtió en el álbum debut de Sabaton, grabado en 2004 en Abyss Studios, y se lanzó al año siguiente. Con su nuevo sello, Black Lodge Records.
En 2010, el álbum fue relanzado en el sello alemán Nuclear Blast, con seis canciones adicionales adicionales, bajo el nombre Primo Victoria Re-Armed. El relanzamiento alcanzó el puesto 43 en las listas de álbumes suecos.

Primo Victoria (Latin, \"Foremost, Victory\") is the debut studio album by Swedish power metal band Sabaton.
The band had previously recorded the full length album Metalizer with Italian label Underground Symphony, but due to conflicts its release was delayed until 2007. Primo Victoria instead became Sabaton's debut album, recorded in 2004 in Abyss Studios, and released the following year with their new label, Black Lodge Records.
In 2010 the album was re-released on German label Nuclear Blast, with six additional bonus tracks, under the name Primo Victoria Re-Armed. The re-release reached 43rd place in the Swedish album charts.
