Admirals - Three wishes

Playing Next: Say My Name
Random Page  /  Random Song

Eddie Lee (tenor), Joe Lee (tenor), Norman Bartlett (baritone), Len Fillis (g), Austin Croom-Johnson (p)
Columbia master CAR 2051-1, rec. London, 19 June 1933.
One of the few recordings the Admirals made after they left Germany. They still were popular live performers, though, and regularly appeared on radio. In 1935 they were part of the original British cast of \"Anything Goes\", and appeared singing excerpts from the show in the first British TV broadcast ever on 26 August 1936. In 1938 they performed in the TV screenplay \"Pest Pilot\", and seem to have returned to the USA in 1939. I do not have any information whether they split up then or tried to continue as a unit. Any clues would be much appreciated.
