So, it's been a while again. Once again life got in the way for a while, but it's not the end of the world. I've been thinking about trying this for a while, chopping up drum and bass loops on the fly with a Volca Sample. It's pretty much perfect for the job but requires a little work around. More on that process in a later video if anyone's interested.
So the Sample does breaks, the Beats keeps a steady tempo which makes it a lot easier to hear where the strong beats are whilst chopping live and the Keys plays a couple of basslines. The sampled breaks come from a Computer Music magazine DVD from issue 156, so ages ago! On the tape is a sermon I found about Armageddon, a lady was giving away tapes on a carboot sale which just happened to have this on. Sometimes these things just fall into your lap and have to be used!
The drum breaks came from Computer Music Magazine issue 156's cover disc so they're not online to download. This download has a set of jungle breaks that very good though, plus it's free and easy to download:
