Track 8 from his masterpiece fifth album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars released in 1972 copyright RCA Records. He was one of the last real \"rock stars\" and this was his breakthrough album. It's success wasn't immediate though and it wasn't until the following year that the album went to No. 5 on the U.K. chart and No. 75 on the Billboard chart. It achieved Platinum status in the U.K. and Gold status in the U.S. two years later. It's considered one of the best rock recordings of all time and has been included in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress as artistically significant for its time.
