Quebec City based Warder was formed back in 2004 as a tribute band. At that time they covered a wide variety of styles ranging from traditional heavy metal anthems to blast-beating extreme acts and prog/rocky hits. Getting on stage now and then the five-piece eventually became known for their versatility, adaptiveness and accuracy of execution.
Work on original material was initiated around 2008. Whilst they still kept a few covers ready in their back pocket for fun and gigs, the band really focused on crafting the Warder sound, a product of many influences. The result is a concept-driven hybrid of bombastic yet technical heavy metal at the core with sporadic incursions into the progressive, power metal and hard rock genres.
In 2010 after many years of commitment, the line-up stabilized and Warder felt ready to undertake the production of their first official release: the Escape Plan EP. The band is now stronger and healthier than ever, dedicating continuous efforts to writing new songs, rocking and headbanging. Be sure not to miss them on stage!
