Marc Seaberg (Real Name: Franz Franz Seeberger) was discovered by producer Jack White in the 70s and released a handful of German singles before signing to Ariola under his new name Marc Seaberg. Landing a Top 20-hit with his debut single Looking For Freedom in 1978, he was off to a promising start with his first LP California Gold and his 'rock'n soul' style as Ariola called it in their press release.
His third single Holly-Ho Havana, released in August 1979, unfortunately did not repeat the chart success of Freedom, nor did the Psycho Killer-inspired new wave track Cuckoo when released in January 1980 to launch his second album Feeling So High that perhaps did not know whether it wanted to be rock, disco or schlager. The title track ballad followed as a single in May '80, also flopping. Jack White stripped the vocals off C'mon C'mon Baby and released the track under the name Robotism by studio project Methusalem which became a much sought-after cosmic disco record.
Two non-album singles followed, I Didn't Know You Cared (August '80) and Holiday (February '81), none of which restored his chart glory. A third and final album would follow in 1982, Never Give It Up, before Seaberg eventually .... gave it up!
