The nine Academy Awards picked up by the MGM musical “Gigi” included the “best song” Oscar for this now-familiar Lerner & Loewe theme. Though the hugely popular movie soundtrack LP spent over three years on the Billboard album rankings, no really successful ‘pop hit’ singles of the title song managed to conquer the U.S. charts. Vic’s fared the best.
