Tom Clay and The Rayber Voices - Never Before - Extremely Rare Early Motown

Playing Next: H.E.R., Tauren Wells - Hold Us Together (Hope Mix (Official Video))
Random Page  /  Random Song

Berry Gordy was personally involved in this record. I am not sure if Chant was a product of Motown or if Berry was a backer. Berry wrote the flipside of this called \"Marry Me,\" and his group The Rayber Voices were used for backup vocals on this 45. This is the only copy I have ever seen (or otherwise heard of).

This puts to rest the misconception that Berry Gordy didn't work with white artists early on. This is from approximately 1959. Berry also had white artists such as Mike and The Modifiers, The Valadiers, Debbie Dean and Bob Kayli in the early days of the company
