On September 30th, 2019, our longtime collaborator and close personal friend Louie Rankin was killed in a tragic car crash in Canada. Louie had starred in our film \"Q\" but also appeared on several songs, and even did the intros/outros on 3 of our albums.
The last song we did together was \"Babylon\" featuring $ignature, which was produced by Sentury Status and available on our album \"Blood Moon\". We decided to take the song and make a tribute video for Louie. The lyrics are based off the Biblical Psalm 137:1-4, which says:
\"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion... They carried us away in captivity requiring of us a song... Now how shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?\"
This lyric was originally sang by The Melodians, and then later by Boney M. Louie's version has his own unique and sorrowful take on the Psalm, and it has even more relevance after his passing.
