Ray Davies is the master of the trumpet, the leader of the Button Down Brass who released some of the funkiest records of the 1970s in the UK. Despite having put out approximately 25 LPs between 1967 and 1977, you'll be hard pressed to find any CD's in your local record shop. Ray was a major player in the UK library scene. Ray put out a lot of easy listening but in the early and mid seventies a harder edge began to develop with the bands sound. More wah-wah, some frenzied drumming and choppy guitar riffs.
Eventually they recorded some straight up funk album's, such as Firedog, in 1976.
