Happy Xmas makes use of a lot of chord embellishments to create a very recognisable sound to the song. Mostly these are simple suspended extensions, but a couple of the chords require some tricky finger stretches. You can play the song using only the basic chords and not worry about the embellishments, but it sounds SO much better with them.
The hardest chord for beginners will be the B minor, and especially the stretchy Bsus4. Your little finger will need to build up some strength to get through it! The song is in 6/8 time with a very simple and steady strum pattern.
