On Mother Kelly's Doorstep is a music hall song written by George Alex Stevens and first performed by Randolph Sutton. I remember it as one of the songs Danny La Rue would feature in his drag act. It is another of the songs my neighbour has given me to learn for our monthly sing-arounds. Like so many songs of that era, the chorus is particularly memorable, but the verses not so, so I have only recorded the chorus.
