Precious Wilson - Precious Wilson (Full Album, Expanded Version, Vol. 2) [1986]
Jamaican-born Precious Wilson recorded 5 albums at Hansa between 1977 and 1983, two of these with Eruption, and three as a solo artist. By the mid-80s she signed up with UK label Jive Records and released a self-titled album in 1986, produced by the likes of Keith Diamond and Monte Moir. Three singles were extracted from it, I'll Be Your Friend, The Jewel Of The Nile (the soundtrack theme of the film by the same name), and Nice Girls Don't Last, all showcasing her voice at its very best. Sadly chart success eluded her once again. Even the follow-up single Only The Strong Survive, produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, failed to give her the hit she needed. In 1988 a remix of I Can't Stand The Rain was released (I'm unable to include it here due to Copyright Control). An independent single I May Be Right 4U followed in 1990 before she recorded a cover version of Sheila & B. Devotion's Spacer in 1992 and a cover version of Donna Summer's I Feel Love in 1992 with the techno group Messiah which gave her a UK #19 hit. Precious Wilson has not released any new records since then but continues to tour as Eruption Feat. Precious Wilson.
