'Nothing New But Normal' was the second of four Electro-Industrial longplayers by Abortive Gasp. They really weren't in danger to sound like some typical German 'Dark Wave'-Combos from that time: They did'nt sound like such a copy from anglosaxon Bands and they haven´nt got their professionalism either. But again they experienced some 'golden moments' on NNBN, which are due to the high grade of improvisation. One can hear them in the extractions 'Inferno State' and 'Intermixed Corruption'.
Thematically the record has been strongly affected by the EastWest-controversy. Harry Luehr programmed nearly all sequences for the band. His oldest one on this record was 'Digital Game' from 1987.
