This was a difficult project that started out as something else, and took roughly seven years to complete. Along the way, it was \"finished,\" then resequenced, then remixed, then abandoned, as it never \"worked\" or felt right. Moving on, I started a new project, but revisited \"Science, technology, and industry\" (the previous concept and title of this work) to see if there was anything that could be salvaged and repurposed. Removing the previous \"concept,\" provided a different perspective to the music - some tracks were shelved, some were remixed, some were re-recorded and moved to the new project. While making what was intended to be its \"replacement,\" this album began to take shape. As it came out of the process of making its follow-up, the two really are companion pieces - linked - two sides of the same coin.
