Served on c36 pro-dubbed tape, we are presented with a set of productions by IJO, a versatile producer with a knack for defying genre’s and touching on various styles.
Made entirely in analogue fashion, In Jut Out’s work for the Homesense project is loosely based around a 140bpm dancefloor structure, but the tracks sway in their own sphere, with ambient / acoustic reinterpretations of music that would often have a far less 0rganic sound to it… the outcome lies somewhere between the sound of Kruder & Dorfemeister, LTJ Bukem, Submotion Orchestra and the jazz and soul heritage that plays a part in these styles.
A special mention goes out to ‘Without You’ and it’s invigorating eski-beat interpretation, the subdued half-time style of 20hz dub, and the captivating ‘Saxy’, with it’s subtle nod to David Brubeck’s ‘Take 5′.
