John Christian-Dee has a very interesting back story. Born February 5, 1944 in Tonawanda, Buffalo, New York, USA. He had a few records released and eventually moved to London in his early twenties. He wrote songs for The Pretty Things and The Pink Fairies.
He also performed in the late sixties duo Adam & Eve and released 2 albums Paradise Of Sounds in 1969 and self titled Adam and Eve in 1970.
He later met and married the infamous Janie Jones, and that's where his story takes a twist. Their backstory is interesting and includes a BBC Payola scandal, a brothel, and a murder.
Janie Jones, it was claimed, ran a brothel from a residency in Hill Road, Kensington, and controlled prostitutes by threats and used these women as inducement to get employess of the BBC to play certain records and rig the charts. Inside Jones’ house was a two-way mirror through which these liaisons could be voyeured…
Dee and Jones were eventually arrested and sentenced to prison but Dee fled the country.
