Meet 81-year-old Esther Mahlangu, South African painter keeping Ndebele culture alive through her art and dress.

Photographer Trevor Stuurman and Rhea Khobane travel to Mpumalanga to talk culture and art with Mahlangu. With no formal education, her art is handed down from one generation to the next. From those humble beginnings, the artist was at the center stage again on the global art scene with her latest work involving joining forces with John Legend and Belvedere to raise money for HIV prevention and painting BMW 7 series interior.
