iO (Mulen), real name Aleksandr Voznichenko, is back on Apollonia Music with a hefty six-track EP. ‘Letters and Numbers’ marks the Ukrainian producer’s second release of the year on the Parisian label, showcasing the infectious rhythm-led formula that worked so well on his debut.

Apollonia are DJs defined by their ability to roll out grooves, so it’s no surprise that this EP has them in abundance. Each track has its own unique quirks, but all carry that signature iO (Mulen) uplifting foundation.

The slick combination of a rolling bassline with atmospheric synths on ‘ypt58' marks it out as our pick from the record, which has provided a bright reminder that 2016 hasn’t been all bad.
