\"Iron Butterfly\" mit ihrer Single \"Easy Rider\" live im Beat Club in Bremen am 30.01.1971.
The band Iron Butterfly was formed in 1966 in San Diego. The original members were Doug Ingle (vocals, organ), Jack Pinney (drums), Greg Willis (bass), and Danny Weis (guitar). They were soon joined by tambourine player Darryl DeLoach. The group is best known for the over 17 minute long psychedelic song \"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida\", which occupies the entire second side of the 1968 album with the same title. In composite with bands like Blue Cheer and Steppenwolf the song marked the period when Psychedelic Rock slowly turned to Heavy Metal. The less known song \"Easy Rider (Let the Wind Pay the Way)\" is taken from their 1971 album Metamorphosis and performed live at the Beat Club in 1971.
