If you happened to tune into my video, \"Hey Look, I'm Finally Talking,\" then you probably remember me mentioning that I recently compiled a very rough album. The album titled, \"Parallel Synchronized Randomness\" is a compilation of tracks which I have composed within the last year. The tracks range from early acoustic originals and short electronic compositions, to more recent acoustic originals and band compositions.
I suppose I don't really intend for this to be an album that is viewed as a marketable work of art. Rather, it tells the story of my life experiences from 2010 to 2011. It also demonstrates my progression as a musician, though the tracks were not arranged chronologically. I have somewhat of a theme in mind, but it's very personal so I don't think most people would really understand it. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Regardless of what it means to the listeners, it was just music that was in my head that I had to get out there.
Most of these songs are based on dreams, major life changes, and everyday struggles. The majority of the album is instrumental as I mentioned in the video. I did that for a several reasons. For one thing, as I am still in my early stages of music making, I was not completely ready to start writing lyrics. Honestly I have trouble expressing my thoughts to others, and I have much self doubt directed toward that aspect of myself. I feel like I don't think in a similar fashion to how most people think.
The other reason is because I feel that in many cases, instrumental music is overlooked and underappreciated. People ask me, \"Why don't you put lyrics to those songs?\" Well, for one thing it's really not that easy, at least for me. I consider myself to be a decent writer, but writing a song is difficult. It takes me a long time to think of what I want to say. Most of the lyrics I've written have ended up in the trash, or deleted from existence with a few clicks of a mouse. Maybe someday I'll keep some and share them with you. I am currently working on a vocal album, but I expect it to run at a glacial pace.
Anyway, I was thinking about going through each song and writing a little bio about it. Sort of a backstory, if you will. But I think I'd rather just leave that open to interpretation. I wonder if anyone will ever figure out what these songs really mean. Hope you enjoy the listening though : ) Note that some tracks are low quality, as the entire album was recorded with basically a single microphone. And yes, I know some sections of certain songs contain mistakes and out of sync phrases. But as I said, this is not a finished, polished product.
