Originally released in 2000, "Brutal Planet" was Alice Cooper's twenty-first studio album and came after a six year gap from the release of "The Last Temptation". Striking out in a distinctively industrial metal direction the songs are thematically linked to the increasing breakdown of society and explore themes such as greed, domestic violence and school shootings. The album re-established Alice Cooper as a modern, relevant artist but still appealed to his longstanding fanbase.
