In composing strange modernistic swing pieces, Sid Phillips was kind of \"British Raymond Scott\" or so. In all its affectation and programmatics, \"Voodoo\" is far away from being a really danceable foxtrot but also far ahead of its time. However Phillips had an outstanding orchestra.
The oil painting I used in this clip is titled \"Voodoo\" and was created in 2009 by Stefan Kubicka, a friend of mine who is painter here in Vienna. I think his picture goes well with Phillips' music. If you like Stefan's painting, just look at his website: http://www.stefankubicka.at
