One of the fourteen singles released by Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Spike Milligan a.k.a. 'The Goons'.
From October 1957.
The final offering recorded by The Goons during the life of the radio show was recorded on the 14th October 1957. \"A Russian Love Song\" was an inspired satire on the emerging cold war politics between the USA and the Soviet Union following the launch of the Sputnik satellite. The song even gave Spike Milligan the chance to demonstrate his best impersonation of Elvis Presley!
The B-side of the single dated back to the session of 10th March, namely the ebullient \"Whistle Your Cares Away\" which, according to the original record label credits, featured Whistlers Mother-in-Law and Asian Flu (Duettists).
