(HQ stereo digital remaster) The video for \"The Slab\", as this song is affectionately known, is as bizarre as the song itself, showing among other things Mark Seymour crossing himself before crossing a highway carrying a slab of beer, Mark wearing a judges wig, and the band members apparently getting drunk in a suburban Melbourne motel room.
But this gem was almost lost. The record company in fact has lost the master tape for this clip, forcing the use of second-gen copies for the Hunnas DVD video clip compilation \"Natural Selection\". One known copy was from ABC TV's late night music program \"Rock Arena\" in 1984, complete with title supers, and this is what they used for the DVD.
But, there was another copy - a Festival \"promo only\" VHS tape used for instore promotion. That copy was complete and title-free, and this is what I've brought back to life here, with a stereo sountrack to boot. It's nothing less than what this classic clip deserves.
