This...was not a cover I initially thought I would make I was planning to do something for the NieR Replicant release day (before I was even 100% sure I would play it) and then my schedule got too hectic and the arrangement took on a life of its own and I couldn't finish it in time....I fully intended to release it this month instead but then....I started playing THIS GAME.
I was already somewhat familiar with the original OST (it was a large reason I even wanted to play the game at all) but hearing the remastered OST with context, in game, hit me SO HARD and I just flew through this entire game in the span of two weeks I also got at least a half dozen ideas of tracks I wanted to cover, so I've been working on a LOT of them simultaneously (that's why it took so long to even get one out lmao) Saying I have been living and breathing this music would be...an understatement LOL
Anyway this track though....I didn't even like it at first, I don't know why....but....when I say this is the theme is the one that made me cry the most times while playing, I MEAN IT It is so emotionally charged and it was a real labor of love to make this work for string quartet in a way that does justice to the original....and I really hope you enjoy it
