Visiting Americans No. 4 Lou Abelardo
Instead of featuring a dance band, the next few uploads will focus on American vocalists who recorded in Britain.
The mellifluous voice of Lou Abelardo was captured by several record companies, usually as a dance band vocalist. He appeared solo on the Dominion and Decca labels. His British recordings appear to have taken place between September 1929 to October 1930.
It was not long before he was featured by Ambrose on several sessions from September 1929 -January 1930. Afterwards he appeared with Ray Starita. The last recording I can find by Abelardo was credited with his orchestra on 23rd October 1930. Presumably, shortly thereafter he returned to the U.S.
Recorded 11th October 1929.
