I discovered this game (and series) when a streamer I watch regularly were streaming the new NieR game. The story and the characters came off as super interesting to me so I continued watching for a while. After a week or so I gave in and bought it for myself. Which is very rare for me cause I usually don't buy games on impulse. With that said, if it wasn't for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NieR: Automata would probably be my game of the year! I could go on and on about why I love this game so much, but not gonna do it here. All I will say is I am eagerly waiting for the next game directed by Yoko Toro.
The OST for this game is absolutely godly. Oh my fucking god, it's so good. I chose The Weight of the World because that's the song that has stuck the most after playing through all 5 main endings. Having the subtle guitar playing before the title screen drops with what ending you got, followed up with the vocals gives me chills every time.
This is probably one of the most difficult single covers I've done so far. It wasn't hard from a technical standpoint, but trying to translate the vocals into guitar and trying to maintain the emotions that the original song conveys was a challenge, but I think I did pretty okay! I've also decided to focus a lot more on the arrangements from now on and hopefully this cover can be the beginning of something new and exciting!
Thanks so much for watching! If you enjoyed, feel free to leave a like, comment and subscribe :)
