Recorded 28th November 2020, and mixed 29th November 2020, at Rose Church, South Wales.

Welcome to 26 tracks of drums and percussion, with a layering of electronic effects (a.k.a. The Electronic Awakening! ....parts 1 -26). All live, with no overdubs. In 2007, I had the idea to write and record an album of just drums and percussion, so I recorded a demo, but, to my regret, it was very โ€˜beatโ€™ oriented and sounded just like a low quality drum machine, so, I abandoned the idea of a purely drum and percussion recording, until 2020. I played no gigs in 2020, which allowed me a lot of time to focus on some new ideas. In November 2020, during the middle of a pandemic, I went into a studio, set-up my drum kit, placed a few microphones strategically around the kit, and chose a reverb compression setting & three electronic studio effects. I then placed a pair of headphones over my ears and played for 3 hours while the studio deck recorded. I replaced one electronic studio effect for another effect, played for another 15 minutes, before changing the effect settings for one last time, and then playing for an additional 5 minutes. You are listening to that recording session. When listening back to the recording, I couldnโ€™t believe how much I was still sub-consciously influenced by legends like Max Roach, Dale Crover, and Sun-Ra. The CD-R version of this release will be available 28/06/21 in deluxe packaging, and in a limited quantity available exclusively via eBay. The CD-R quality will be much higher than that of YouTube.

Thanks to Rob Chester for constant inspiration, Tim Meddick for honest reviews, Gemma for letting do my own thing (even though she thinks this is โ€˜just noiseโ€™), and Jeff Rose for his un-matched engineering skills in the studio.
