‘The Color of Nothing’ represents what you see when you close your eyes and rub them. Although your eyes are shut, what appears to you in this moment is an indescribable hue. It’s not black, white, or any other color that can be described. For me, the color of nothing is liberating. It is a blank canvas; a canvas where I can free myself of pre-conceived ideas and create openly.
This collection of songs is a reflection and culmination of experiences from the last two years of my life. It’s been a difficult but rewarding chapter wherein I found myself having to grow up quickly. I moved across the world, entered and then dropped out of school,
suffered loss, struggled personally, started touring, made new friends, and decided to pursue music full time. Collectively, the album reflects this complex yet beautiful time in my life. I like to think these songs were created from that same blank canvas — from the color of nothing where anything is possible — and therefore hope this album is an honest and genuine reflection of myself.
