Hauschka (Volker Bertelmann) is familiar to many through his evocative and emotional soundtracks – such as for the hit film ‘Lion’ (composed with Dustin O’Halloran), ‘Hotel Mumbai’, ‘Adrift’ or for the TV series ‘Patrick Melrose’. For his first album with Sony Classical - ‘A Different Forest’ - the renowned pianist and composer does away with his customary preparations to return to the sound of the pure piano. The single ‘Curious’ offers the first glimpse at the central themes of the album: The experience of nature as the basis for Hauschka’s understanding of life and the composition of music.
