A little bit of background: John Candy is one of Anthony West's many musical projects over the years, along with bandmate George Lindsay. \"Conversations\" is a full-length album only available digitally or physically as an LP, with no known cd copies ever produced. It was released in 2010, just a year after Futures was formed, and was a way for George and Anthony to release music outside of the band. Anyways, I love this album, especially since it definitely feels like Anthony's, and less like a group-project or something like that.
It has some obvious punk-rock vibes which seem to be reminiscent of Tonight is Goodbye, with some direct lyrics from Futures songs. (Somewhere on this album Anthony repeats \"Cause nobody likes a liar like do\" which is also an iconic line from The Boy Who Cried Wolf, an anthem from Futures.) But the album also features some lofi electronic vibes, which seem to indicate the start of We The Wild, which progressed into Oh Wonder's sound. And since both George and Anthony were both in Futures, and eventually Oh Wonder, this album truly is a puzzle piece in their musical careers. (George Lindsay is the drummer of Oh Wonder's band, btw)
I'll also probably end up uploading all of the songs individually as well at some point for those who prefer that format. :)
