The First Four Beers (Compilation 2015)

http://ironwitch.bandcamp.com/

This new compilation pulls together all of Iron Witch’s out of print material, ahead of the band’s debut album in 2015. ‘The First Four Beers’ includes the sought after debut EP ‘Single Malt’, the ‘Post Vegas Blues’ and ‘Hangover Suicide’ seven-inches and ‘Her Cheating Heart’ from their split with The Atrocity Exhibit

The thirteen-track compendium showcases Iron Witch’s distilled blend of nihilistic, booze fuelled, Northern sludge; dragged kicking and screaming from the murky banks of the River Mersey

‘The First Four Beers’ charts the bands early beginnings of feedback riddled hardcore sludge, through to their most recent offerings of hazy, groove laden doom. Drenched in bile, beer and banned substances, this is an essential collection for any fan of UK sludge

-------------------

The Scouse five-piece cite their influences as ranging from Grief

and Eyehategod, right through to Black Flag and Iron Monkey,

via the Delta Blues. If their recorded output wasn’t testament

enough, the one thing Iron Witch live for is putting on a

powerful live show, full of all the drunken, drugged up hate they

can muster.

In their four years of existence, the quintet have notched up a

remarkable number of (long sold out) releases on some of the

UK’s most infamous underground labels, such as DIY specialists

Witch Hunter Records and the much respected Thirty Days Of

Night Records. The band have also played shows alongside the

likes of Trash Talk, Corrosion Of Conformity, Kylesa, Municipal

Waste, Eyehategod and Torche, as well as landing prestigious

slots at both Incubate and Damnation Festival in 2013. Iron Witch have spent much of 2014 locked in the practice tomb

crafting their debut full-length but that hasn’t stopped them

from undertaking a headline tour of the UK, appearing alongside

the resurrected Send More Paramedics at TDON’s 10 Year

Anniversary Fest and playing headline slots at both the

inaugural Rif Fest in Bolton and the WPC Summer Sizzler in

Brixton.

The band are now seeking a label to release their debut album

in early 2015.
