Darn That Dream (DeLange-Van Heusen) by Benny Goodman & his Orchestra, vocal by Mildred Bailey
“Darn That Dream” originated in the short-lived (13 performances) stage musical “Swingin’ The Dream,” which starred Louis Armstrong as “Bottom” in a modern-day adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Musical Supervisor for the play was none other than Benny Goodman, who performed in the production with his sextet and also recorded this top-selling version of the song.
