Last time I did a Banjo Kazooie cover..... two years ago..... I had sent it over to Grant Kirkhope, and I also asked which song he'd like me to do next, and he said Mad Monster Mansion! Since then I'd always wanted to do it, and I thought it'd be perfect to kick off my halloween weeklies with. I'm pretty happy with this arrangement, there's a lot of really fun/silly rhythm guitar stuff in there and I love it! The hardest part of this cover of course, was the sweeping section. I'd never really done any sweeping before, and I had to practice that part for sooo many hours. When I recorded it, I had to break it into 4 different parts. And it still doesn't even sound that great lmao! My favourite part of this cover is definitely the ending solo that my friend Brin made! I absolutely knew he could make a perfect solo for that part so that's why I asked him. He certainly delivered! :D
Funny story with filming this one. A few weeks ago I ordered these RGB LED lights (which you see in this video), and they weren't supposed to arrive until the 13th, which is after I filmed/uploaded this. I was texting Brin on Friday on the bus home from school, and he was talking about how he wanted to use green lights for his solo bit. And this whole time I'm just like \"frick man I wish I had lights to do that with too\". I came home, and MY LIGHTS WERE THERE!!!!!! felt amazing yo
Video editing this was interesting. For some reason Adobe Premiere has this glitch where whenever I import a clip, it will speed it up. It would only speed up the video though, not the audio. So eventually the video clip would de-synced from it's own audio. It's a disaster. SO, I moved back to Final Cut, and will stick with it until I fix that problem with Premiere, or maybe longer. I'm actually happy with how that all worked out BECAUSE Final Cut has the \"Handheld\" feature, to make it look like someone's holding the camera, which made everything a lot more cinematic in this video! :D
Thanks for watching everyone! I hope everyone's having a happy thanksgiving over here in syrup land! :P Stay tuned next week.... you may get a little..... dizzy.
BRIN (Hells6bells) for not only laying down a freakin rad solo for me, but also teaching me everything I know about lighting. Helps so much man \m/: https://www.youtube.com/user/Hells6bells
Alejandro (AHmusic) for some last minute mixing pointers (telling me to add more low end to my rhythm guitars lol): https://www.youtube.com/user/Alez15666
