Random Page  /  Random Song

Rare Earth Records was one of Motown's sister labels predominately set up in 1969 as Motown's \"White Rock Label\" . The main artists being the band \"Rare Earth\" who covered a number of the Temptations tracks.

The Label numbering Sequence commenced at No 5004. This first 45 being by R.Dean Taylor \"Gotta See Jane\" however it never had a U.S. release and was only issued in Canada. It was however issued nearly 2 years later in 1971 on Rare Earth 5026.

There are six 45's on the label known as the \"lost Motown Records\" as non of the 6 were owned by Motown, they being\" The Pretty Things (Rare Earth 5005) , The Virgil Brothers (RE5006) , Sounds Nice (RE5008) The Easybeats (RE 5010), The Cats (RE5016) & Toe Fat (RE5019)

The \"Pretty Things\" being the rarest 45 on the label, it was also issued across Europe on the Columbia label.

Focusing on Missing 45's & 'B' sides not on YouTube

From my own personal collection, No Infringement Intended
