Dino di Luca & Sorelle Lescano – Disillusione, Tango (Allocchio – Gibellini, Mari) Orchestra Cetra dir. dal Pippo Barzizza, Parlophon 1939 (Italian)

NOTE: This recording is a product of three top performers of Italian light music in the 1930s. Dino di Luca (also billed as Guido Diluca) was born in Livorno in 1903. In the Radio Golden Years he was the entertainment personality, among other things, he was one of the three musketeers in the famous radio program of the '30s. He also made a recording career mainly for Parlophon when this label was produced in Italy and distributed by Cetra. In the 1950s. Dino di Luca emigrated to the US where he continued to work as an actor, he was also the husband of popular actress Lilla Brignone. Dino di Luca died in the USA in 1991.

Sorelle LESCANO (Alessandra, Giuditta and Caterina Lescano) was an Italian vocal trio called “Le regine dello Swing” (The Queens of Swing) who “made Italy dance” and whose songs are known all over the world. Also Pippo Barzizza’s dance band belonged to the best orchestras in the big band era in Italy.
