Classical / stride blues piano cover of Slipknot's Wait & Bleed, arranged and performed by Todd Allen Gates.
Here's what I'm doing:
CHORUS, RIGHT HAND: melody & chords together. Chords: Bm6, C9, D13, C9 and Bm6 (as I play the melody, sometimes the C9s turn into C13s, and the D13s turn into D9s).
CHORUS, LEFT HAND: chords in stride style.
VERSE, RIGHT HAND: melody in octaves, supplemented by either the 5th or the root in the middle (plus some improv when the vocal line gets gutteral).
VERSE, LEFT HAND: in sixteenth notes, arpeggiate up a Bm6 (B, D, F#, G#) for two octaves and down a C major 7 flat 5 (C, B, F#, E) for two octaves. (It's loosely based on the left hand pattern of Chopin's \"Revolutionary Etude.\")
