A Favor House Atlantic by Coheed and Cambria. Featuring The Sea Upon Us providing the instrumental!
This one is a real experiment because this is the first time in a while that I used no melodyne in a recording. In fact, its quasi-live, as I recorded 2 full takes of the song, segmented to where it made sense (ie. cannot record through a vocal break where lead parts overlap, but that only happens a few times in the song: at 0:59, 1:42, 2:05 particularly). This is as opposed to my usual line by line recording method. For some reason last week's Avenged Sevenfold cover got a bunch of people complaining that I used too much pitch correction, and I got other comments on other videos recently that I rely too much on post-production. So I thought I should give a (quasi-)live recording a shot and not use melodyne at all :D Enjoy! It's a little out of my comfort zone since I don't like hearing my own off notes, but I think it sounds much more authentic. If I ever sing live, it should sound something like this! Also helps that this pop-punk sounding song is the perfect live-recording song.
