I've been hearing about Anita Baker since the 1982 or so. One of her band members from her first group \"Chapter 8\" lived directly across the street from my best friend. They had a song called called \"I Just Want to Be Your Girl\" that my favorite DJ Mojo would play every now and then. I hadn't heard that much else from them, as a matter of fact I later heard they broke up like so many groups do. Then right in the middle of the 80's Anita started to reemerge. Her sound was more than just R&B to me, she always had a Jazzy tone to her voice. When her second solo album \"Rapture\" came out, it was official our very own Ms. Baker had \"Gone Global.\"
