Hot on the heels of Lodger’s second release for the mysterious STAMP records, the young Sheffield producer draws new inspiration under his ‘Al Zanders’ alias to provide three house cuts for the Phonica Records sub-label, Karakul.

Picking up the pace from NY*AK’s down-tempo Laid EP, Alex Buchan kicks things up a notch with the EP’s title track. ‘Slender’ begins with steady kicks and subtle pads before evolving into a peak time party track complete with a groovy bassline, mutating modular synths and crisp rhythm section.

‘I Don’t Want You To Judge’ is another upbeat number which utilizes a killer bongo loop and chopped Finally ‘Let Me Be Lonely’ rounds the EP off with a curveball. The track starts off with an extended sample from a soul record before gearing up into another pumping house track featuring some lush guitar licks, another strong bassline and intricate drum work to keep the crowd moving. up vocal samples to create a dreamy atmosphere.
