Switzerland is famous for its particularly tasty chocolate, high-quality cheese and precision penknives. FINAL CUT, a five-member band from Beinwil am See in the canton of Aargau, brings this typical Swiss precision to the thrash metal scene. The band’s album “Massive Resurrection” – released on 5 September 2014 by Dr. Music Records – offers a no-holds-barred introduction to violent blues thrash metal. An intense, powerful vocal and a convincing sound make it clear from the start that there’s a lot more to the Swiss music scene than DJ Bobo.
Formed in 2011 and following a change of bass player and singer, FINAL CUT’s current line-up consists of singer Patrick Härdi, Lukas Bühler on the guitar, Christian Abt on lead guitar, bassist Christoph Kippel and Florian Brändle on the drums. While the band’s sound is clearly influenced by old school thrash metal, the Swiss five-piece enhances its classic roots with modern, experimental, groovy parts and utopianesque quieter phases. Following a 3-year formative period, the time has come for the group to emerge from the Swiss metal underground scene with its wake-up call: “Massive Resurrection”.
