The Allniters from Sydney were Australia’s first and most successful ska bands. Having formed in 1980 at the legendary Sussex hotel, the Allniters went on to become one of the country’s most popular live touring bands of the early to mid 1980s. The Allniters’ backline and guest musicians released two reggae based EPs under the name IGNITERS. The Allniters disbanded in January 1985 having released seven singles and one album. The backline formed Club Ska who released three singles over two years, while the vocalists continued the Allniters with various line-ups until the early 1990s and released a second album in 2000.
In 2014 the documentary ‘Allniters – a rude awakening’ was released on Red Eye Records:
