This is JUST Archive's first ever upload!
I've been itching to get this album for a very long time--track #2, \"I Need That Bass\", was featured on the \"Dancemania Bass\" series twice, and something about the song made me fall in love with it... The bass, the pulse, the speed of it all...
However, I found this album to be mostly absent from the web. Despite there being a full upload of this CD on YouTube (by user \"Miami Bass History\"), this wasn't up on any music platform that I could find. I wanted a clean, lossless rip of this gem so that everyone could enjoy it. So, I decided to save up and spend the cash on the only copy of this that I could find and have it ripped by a very good friend of mine.
Massive shoutouts to Jonathan \"Fresca\" Campbell [on Twitter @ mr_j1998] for receiving, ripping and scanning this for me! This wouldn't have been possible without you!
This is quite the gem! This entire album was produced by two folks: Keith Rosenberg, now more commonly known as \"DJ Trip\", a fairly active producer during the mid-90s on several Bass Music compilations and singles under his pseudoname \"Mr. Bassman\", though he also dabbles in Breakbeats, Electro and Acid! (You can definitely tell in some of the faster songs...)
The other producer is Jorge Jaramillo, AKA \"DJ Lace\", a House and Pop producer who also worked plenty of Hip-Hop and Bass music in the mid-90s, even working with artists like DJ Magic Mike!
Bass Music is called \"BASS Music\" for a reason--this is meant to be listened to with a proper sub/bass system or a pair of good quality monitors! Some tracks can get quite fast, too!
It can get quite intense in some parts, especially with how the bass gets pushed around/sequenced. It has a very garage-like \"Drum'n Bass\" feel to it!
Also, it's worth pointing out that the last six tracks are part of the \"test section\", where you'd use these short tracks to calibrate and set up your sound system properly--they're not meant to be music tracks, rather, tools to help you prep your speakers by frequency reproduction and calibration. This was a common feature in many Bass Music/Miami Bass albums!
In any case, we hope you enjoy this upload...!
Archiving stuff like this has been something I've wanted to do for a long time. I got other releases planned down the line! Some of them aren't anything special, but that's not the point. If it's not up online/unavailable to legally purchase anymore, it deserves to be archived and curated! It doesn't matter how uninteresting the release may seem, there's always history behind it.
That is the driving force behind \"JUST Archives\"--it is JUST to all music, no matter what!
