It signifies the members' determination to become legendary and irreplaceably unique.
The team's logo contains a symbol of a unicorn, showing how mysterious and unique UNIQ is.

UNIQは、特別で個性があるという意味のユニーク（UNIQUE）と神話や伝説の中­の動物で神秘を秘めたユニコーン（UNICORN）の合成語だ。神話の中の存在である­ユニコーンの角と特別で個性のある自分たちの姿を一つにして、唯一無二な存在になると­いうことをチーム名に込めた。特にUNIQはユニコーンを形象化したシンボルをロゴに­入れて神秘的で特別なUNIQを表現している。

UNIQ는 특별하고 개성 있다는 의미의 유니크(UNIQUE)와 신화와 전설 속의 동물로 신비함을 간직한 유니콘(UNICORN)을 합성해 만든 새로운 단어이다. 신화 속의 존재인 유니콘의 뿔과 특별하고 개성 있는 자신들만의 모습을 하나로 모아 유일무이한 존재가 될 것이라는 것을 팀의 이름에 담아 낸 것이다. 특히 UNIQ는 유니콘을 형상화한 심벌을 로고에 넣어 신비하고 특별한 UNIQ를 표현하고 있다.
