Mega rare this LP was released in 1971 by UK Rock band `Grannie` on the SRT Label (71138) who offered an all-inclusive deal of 8 hours of studio time, a master tape and 99 finished LPs for Β£100. After which the band released it themselves, also to save costs they used the original white card sleeves from the pressing plant and stuck a printed picture on the front of the sleeve. It has been reissued several times but the original is mega rare & distinctive, that is why a copy sold in 2019 for Β£4480

What became Grannie formed around guitarist Phil Newton in 1968/69 initially a cover band Newton then began to write original music. The line-up that went into the studio was Phil Newton (lead guitar/vocals), Dave β€˜H’ Holland (bass/vocals), Fred Lilley (vocals), Johnny Clark (drums) and the futures Mrs. Newton, Jan Chandler (flute/vocals). There was also an appearance by John β€˜Stevie’ Stevenson who played keyboards on one track Coloured Armageddon. The band played at The Greyhound, The Marquee and even the Roundhouse although their journey ended when all of their gear - including one of the first mellotrons - was stolen. One of the rarest albums of the period.
